Yasmina Diab accepts Medicare care plans and provides treatment and therapy for the following;

  • Eating disorders in children, adolescents, and adults

  • Food, eating, nutrition, weight and body concerns in all age groups

  • Women’s health issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause,
    and menopause

  • Fertility support

  • Weight management focused on fostering a positive relationship with food

Nutritionist & Eating Disorder Support Coordinator services

Bethany Newell provides advice and support for the following;

  • Food and nutrition related sensory difficulties in adolescents and adults

  • ARFID in adolescents and adults

  • Disordered eating behaviours

  • Food and nutrition advice to support those utilising GLP-1s

  • Women’s health issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause
    and menopause

  • Gut health issues, including IBS

Innovative services

We also offer a range of tailored and innovative services such as;

  • Food safety, storage, preparation and cooking

  • Recipe adjustment for dietary, sensory or financial needs

  • Menu planning, shopping lists and food related budgeting skills

  • Supermarket tours

On discussion, these services can be offered both in clinic, in home or in community for individuals or small family groups.

Referrals are preferred but not required, services offered by Bethany Newell do not attract Medicare or Private Health rebates.

Patients with NDIS funding may be entitled to reimbursement for support services relevant to their NDIS plans, patients are advised to check with their NDIS plan manager if they are unsure.

We provide compassionate, tailored support, and care specifically designed for individuals living with eating disorders—whether you are seeking treatment for yourself or on behalf of a loved one.

Our approach to care is firmly evidence-informed, drawing upon extensive professional training, continuous professional development, and regular clinical supervision to ensure the highest standard of treatment.

We have completed training in Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, enabling us to offer a comprehensive and effective treatment approach.

Treatment is available for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing eating disorders, with the following.

  • Anorexia Nervosa

  • Binge Eating Disorder

  • Bulimia Nervosa

  • Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders

  • ARFID

“A diagnosis of an eating disorder can be an extremely overwhelming experience not only for the individual, but also for the people closest to them”. Often patients, families and loved ones can be left feeling lost as they try to navigate the sudden flood of information, appointments and specialists.

At Diab Dietetics, we know that having a strong understanding of the eating disorder diagnosis and treatment process can help you to make confident, informed decisions about treatment and care. While you wait for the first appointment with a psychologist, dietitian or psychiatrist, we offer you the opportunity to have some of your questions answered.

This service is available to those with a new or existing diagnosis looking for additional support to navigate the complex eating disorder treatment space.

Bethany Newell, a qualified Nutritionist & Eating Disorder Support Coordinator, provides one on one advice and guidance in a non-judgmental and supportive space.

This can include information and support around:

  • Care-plans, how they work and what you are entitled to from Medicare

  • Building a care team, including recommendations for psychology, psychiatry and dietetic support

  • Treatment approaches and modalities and what they involve and the differences between them

  • The RAVES framework

  • The Statewide Eating Disorder Service (SEDS)

  • Out of hours care and guidelines

  • Support services available for patients, families and loved ones

By discussing this information ahead of time, you will be in the best possible place to begin treatment in your first session and know which support services you can access while you wait for your appointment.

This service is available to families or loved ones looking to learn more about the eating disorder treatment process, and you are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as suits your needs.
